What is a Neocircle?
A NeoCircle is a group of web sites that all share the same theme. They are linked by means of special HTML code. The word "Neocircle" describes and is similar to Web Rings found outside of the Neopets Community. If you are unfamiliar with Web Rings, they link together different Internet sites. A person finding the Peophin's Preferred navigation panel can visit every member's site, without having to use a search engine or know the other sites' address. Its a great way to meet friends, share content and get people to visit your site.How can I become a member of Peophins Preferred?
- First, you must be a member of Neopets.com. If you do not have an account at Neopets and would like to experience the "free", fun online gaming community click here.
(remember to be currently logged into neopets before clicking any of the links below)- Second, you must own a Peophin. The rare and beautiful sea mammal that resembles a horse with a dolphin's type hindquarters or tail.
- Third, you must sign up to join this neocircle and be willing to add the required HTML code to your page immediately after sign up. Just put in the Name of Your Website, and that site's web address (url). If you choose to place the HTML code on your pets homepage, the address should look like http://home.neopets.com/~percina (percina would be replaced with your pet's name) --Make sure this is the site that you plan to put the HTML code for the neocircle on. -- Then just click the "Join Circle!" button.
- Last, but most important, Add the HTML code for the Peophin's Preferred Neocircle to your pet's functional (the page must be working at the time of submission) homepage or your shop. You can get the code here. Make sure that you only copy the code for the Peophin's Preferred Neocircle if you belong to more than one. The code must be installed within 2 days or your site will be deleted. (Further instructions and help for installing the code is listed below.)
Instructions for installing the Peophin's Preferred Neocircle on your page.
To access the edit features for both your pet's homepage and your shop, just click the appropriate link below.To Edit your Pet's Homepage, http://www.neopets.com/edithomepage.phtml
Under your Peophin's picture, there is an Edit link. Once on the Edit page, just paste the copied Peophins Preferred Code below whatever existing text or HTML codes are showing in the box. **You may have to scroll down the box to reach the bottom. Then, click the "Make Changes" button. The Peophin's Preferred Neocircle navigation panel should show clearly on your page.To Edit your Shop page, http://www.neopets.com/market.phtml?type=edit
Just paste the copied code in the Shop Description Box--probably below whatever text or code that is already there. **Again, you may have to scroll down to reach the bottom. Then, click the "Update Shop" button. The Peophin's Preferred Neocircle navigation panel should show clearly on your page.I don't know how to Copy and Paste the HTML codes, what do I do?
You must use Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) as your browser. Neopets' dynamically created pages currently do not support the Netscape browser. As a result, Netscape users cannot copy anything off the Neopets website. However, the method desribed below does work with Netscape on any other webpages.
- Just place your mouse cursor in front of the text you want to copy. While holding down the left mouse button, drag the mouse over the text. The text (code) should now be highlighted.
- Next, go to the top of the browser where you see the File, Edit, View, Go, etc...headings. Click on Edit. A menu will appear ....choose "COPY". (The text has now been copied to your computer's clipboard).
- Next, go to the page that you want to PASTE the text (code). Place the mouse cursor where you want the text or code to go ... usually at the bottom. Go back to the Edit Menu. This time, choose "Paste". The code should now appear where you wanted it.
- Make sure you click the "Make Changes" or "Update Shop" buttons (dependent on which page you wanted to place the code) so that the change is recorded and the navigation panel should show up on your pet's home page or shop front. :)
Can I place the Peophin's Preferred Neocircle HTML codes on more than One Page?
Sure! The only thing is...The site address (url) listed upon sign up will be the only site that receives traffic from the neocircle.Okay, Can I have both my pet's homepage and shop address's (URL) listed or joined to the neocircle?
Unfortunately, at this time, Neopets will only allow a member to be joined to a neocircle one time with only one website address. I find this irksome as I too would like my pet's home page and my shop to be included in the neocircle. (I have requested this to be changed) Meanwhile, if you really want both listed, then the pages have to be entered under separate account screen names. You can create another neopets account here. Remember to install the proper unique code to the appropriate site. Everyone, has a their own code, specific to their listed information.Is it possible to put the HTML code for the neocircle on a page or website not located on Neopets.com and have it work correctly?
Yes. You can place the neocircle's navigation panel on your pet's home page even if you have one that is not sponsored by neopets.com. However, the page must have something to do with your Peophin or the Neopets community. Also, you will have to figure out how to place the code on your page using whatever HTML editor used to construct that page. The principles explained here should make it easy.

This is what the Navigation Panel should look like when properly installed.
This example does not have the table borders
found on the navigation panel provided to you.
To get rid of the borders, you have to manually edit the code.
The top line that reads,
"<table width=400 border=1 align=center cellpadding=2
cellspacing=0>" needs to have
border=1 changed to border=0
Easy! :-)
